Very rarely do I want to make art for something I'm a fan of, but I recently have been listening to some Dungeons and Dragon's podcasts while I work and I was struck with the inspiration to make a short animatic for a moment that stood out to me.

I thought it would be fun for you readers to follow my progress while I work on this little project of mine!

First thing's first, we have to establish our main characters! Meet Pixel and Mr. Weedlevox. Pixel is the main focus of this short but Weedlevox (or Mr. W) is an important character in this story.

I also designed the layout of the main set piece. I was inspired by the office in The Godfather so many of my color choices were influenced by that.

And finally we've got our secondary characters. They aren't featured much in this project, if I ever feel inspired again, I might do something for the other characters. But as of right now, Pixel is the main focus for this!

I'm a girl who loves height charts. They're also SUPER important for knowing proportions of characters in relation to one another.

As of when I'm putting together this blog, I'm currently putting together my first pass of the storyboards. With the assistance from my awesome friends they're going to help me refine anything that needs reframing as well as making sure it flows nicely.

Until next time!!

Yippee I finished the first pass of my boards! Gonna go over them with some friends to see if there's anyhting that needs to be changed before I go into refinements.

I'm still working!! The revisions took me longer than expected but I finally finished them! Now I await the reviews from my peers on any additional changes I should make before refinements. I'm overall super happy with these updates.

I also took some time to re-format the images so this whole blog isn't just a wall of pictures, so now you can view the boards as a slideshow! and you can view all the references without having to click out of the picture :)
